Oil is not a devil , the devil is the back-warded African man who failed to reconcile with his brother , who failed to become sensitized of the current world realities , who failed to overcome ethnic and cultural differences . Africa notwithstanding the long period of colonialism and underdevelopment is still the richest continent in the globe . I would pray to God the Almighty to bless the people of Africa and people of South Sudan and bring their leaders to the table of civilized negotiation instead of civil war .

Silva Kiir was between a rock and a hard place, either to go with the "New Sudan" and its associated commitment to the SPLM\N or concenterate on developing his newly independentt state ;including the relationship with the mother state, he chose the latter. However, Either way, the stakes are too high; notwithstanding the fragile nature of the new stat,
This crisis will test the wisdom not the metal of Kirr,he's known for his wisdom and coolness under pressure; but he is no shrewed plitician; especially when you are dealing with a guy in the calibre of Rick Machar- he knew all along the wind will blow from that side, yet politically he doesn't seem to be prepared to contain him. Kiir recoursed to his strength i.e "decisiveness" where he didn't have to, at least for the time being- let the Party sort out the politics. Kirr could have delayed it,but in all cases it was inevitable, the question was just how bad? Too much History there; a history of bad blood, vivid there is the 1991 Machar's so called "the let down on the verge of victory". The burden is on Kiir to mend this one, but the pragmatist Machar will only negotiate to oust or politically damage Kiir, so why should the latter negotiate?. For S.Sudan,by all means, this crisis is make or breake one.Yes it has all the markings of a civil war; yet people forget how many times the Southerners came back;lined up and fought together, that's a pattern hasn't been broken yet. The more foreign intervention you see the less the civil war will become.People never gave them enough credit for how hard and smart they fought to gain their independence. Yes, Garang was a charismatic leader with the right stuff, but who did the fighting and the heavy lifting?who sacrificed again and again I don't underestimate their guts nor their grits or inteligence- they will overcome and will know when to line up- and they will be with the right guy. They deserve to reap the benefits of their hard fought struggle. But when you are that rich you better be careful!you don't know how great future you could have!. I wish you Southerners all the best, and pray for your unity.
oil is the devil and all Africa will pay a heafty price because of the vast resources that needed by the developed world and these resources lies beneth the African land so be ready for recolonisation mama Africa!!!!
