طالبت مديرة جامعة الخرطوم فدوى عبد الرحمن وزيرة التعليم العالي باسترداد داخليات طلاب جامعة الخرطوم من صندوق دعم الطلاب .
وذكرت مديرة الجامعة في خطابها الموجه إلى الوزارة بحسب إدارة الإعلام أن طلاب الجامعة الذين يقيمون في الداخليات ظلوا يشكون باستمرار من تردي الأوضاع.
وأشارت إلى أن جامعة الخرطوم ترجو إصدار قرار عاجل بإرجاع جميع الداخليات التابعة للجامعة والداخليات التي أقامها الصندوق في أراضي الجامعة مقرونة بموردها ومخصصاتها؛ لتتولى الجامعة مسؤولية الإشراف عليها في إطار مسؤولية إدارة الجامعة من الطلاب وحرصها على تهيئة السكن لهم.

Utilizing the U of K resources, since July 1989 when process of seizing the hostel started, the security elements and Islamists have been exploiting the U of K students, recruiting some and spreading fear. Eventually this policy lead to killing of four students; Bashir Eltayieb, Saleem Abubaker, Aleayaa Abuagla and Mohammed Abdulsalam

The Mister of Education has nothing to do concerning such a decision. In fact, the hostels all student accommodation properties have been belonged to the so-called President since 1990. Therefore, the current so-called Presidential Council or whatever is authorised to take such a desired decision
