Salam this is not the first or the last time to talk about contamination by insecticides or pesticides or herbicides. You can smell the odor of the toxic chemicals from Port Sudan along the railway to different parts of the Sudan. Every railway station is contaminated, every railway carriage is contaminated. Some of these toxic chemicals were stopped in the country of the origin, yet it is used in our country. These chemicals had been proved to be hazardous to all human, animals and will lead to sterility and cancers, yet they are still being used by our ministry of agriculture as well as private companies in our country without any regret. In the past they have some stores in Khartoum North Water Station which provide Khartoum North and part of Omdurman with water. They prepare the Zinc phosphide and mix it with dura bran as if it is sand and cement for building homes. The poor guys who were temporary labors without any protective cloths and masks were ordered to mix these potent chemicals which led to bleeding and death of many of them and no one investigates. I wrote an article about that in 1970s and no one cared.
