السكة حديد كانت الوسيلة الارخص للمواصلالت وكان يمكن تنميتها بشراء القاطرات الحديثة بدلا من التكاليف الكبيرة في سفلتت الشوارع التي قتلت الكثير من ابناء الوطن بحوادثها ولكن عمال السكة حديد دائما كانوا في مقدمة الثوار وقادة الاحتجاجات لذلك حاول نميري تدمير السكة حديد وجاء جماعة الترابي وقضوا علي باقي الموسسات العاملة والمنتجة والتي كانت تدر نسبة كبيرة على الدخل القومي مثل الخطوط الجوية والخطوط البحرية ومشروع الجزيرة وغيرها والله المستعان
